SHANGRILA FARM PUREBRED LUSITANOS  was founded in West Palm Beach, Florida, in the year 2000 when we imported our foundation stock of the finest Portuguese bloodlines.  As our numbers increased, we outgrew our small farm in South Florida and purchased 27 acres outside of Ocala, Florida.   In 2010 we made the decision to downsize our operation and keep only the breeding stock.  It was sad to sell our beloved horses and we made every effort to find exceptional buyers.   In 2012 we moved our breeding operation to 70 acres in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Alabama.  The lush pastures, valleys, woods, and spring-fed creeks make an ideal environment for our mares and babies.

We stand two imported Lusitano stallions: “Exaustivo” 100% Alter Real, the famous classical equitation breed of the Portuguese School of Classical Riding;  and “Veneno Imperial” a Veiga buckskin imported from Brazil with impeccable bloodlines.  We bred two broodmares this Spring and will have two foals for sale in 2013.  With our new facility we offer full care for your mare or ship fresh collected semen to you.
